A question keeps growing the deeper one understand nature – what is nature , natural and thus what is unnatural ?
If everything that exists is part of nature, is born out of nature – what then is unnatural ?
Is polythene unnatural ? How do we decide ?
At a deeper level nothing appears unnatural and “unnatural” becomes a fake word.
Then more questions come up – if we accept this hypothesis. – What’s wrong in cutting a tree ? What’s wrong with extracting water from tube-wells? What’s wrong with GM food ?
GM food might not be good for us, just as eating stones is not. But, is genetic modification unnatural ? If man is part of nature, can anything done by us be not a part of nature and thus – unnatural ?
If monkey’s eating a banana and throwing a banana peel is natural, how can man’s experiments to create something new be unnatural ?
Similarly cutting a tree appears definitely to be something sinful and unnatural but how about wind or rains uprooting a tree or an elephant or cow stamping plants ?
Where do we draw the line ? Does man’s selfishness and desires make things unnatural ?
What is unnatural and what is natural ?
These questions needs some thoughts….
जैसे-जैसे कोई प्रकृति को गहराई से समझता है, एक सवाल लगातार बढ़ता जाता है – प्रकृति, प्राकृतिक और इस तरह अप्राकृतिक क्या है?
यदि अस्तित्व में मौजूद हर चीज प्रकृति का हिस्सा है, प्रकृति से ही जन्मी है – तो फिर अप्राकृतिक क्या है?
क्या पॉलिथीन अप्राकृतिक है? हम यह कैसे तय करें?
गहन स्तर पर कुछ भी अप्राकृतिक प्रतीत नहीं होता और “अप्राकृतिक” एक फर्जी शब्द बन जाता है।
फिर और सवाल उठते हैं – यदि हम इस परिकल्पना को स्वीकार कर लें। – पेड़ काटने में क्या गलत है? ट्यूबवेल से पानी निकालने में क्या गलत है? जीएम (GM) भोजन में क्या गलत है?
जीएम भोजन शायद हमारे लिए अच्छा न हो, ठीक वैसे ही जैसे पत्थर खाना अच्छा नहीं होता। लेकिन, क्या आनुवंशिक संशोधन (जेनेटिक मॉडिफिकेशन) अप्राकृतिक है? यदि मनुष्य प्रकृति का हिस्सा है, तो क्या हमारे द्वारा किया गया कोई भी कार्य प्रकृति का हिस्सा नहीं हो सकता और इस प्रकार – अप्राकृतिक?
यदि बंदर का केला खाना और छिलका फेंकना प्राकृतिक है, तो मनुष्य के कुछ नया बनाने के प्रयोग अप्राकृतिक कैसे हो सकते हैं?
इसी तरह पेड़ काटना निश्चित रूप से पापपूर्ण और अप्राकृतिक लगता है, लेकिन हवा या बारिश से पेड़ उखड़ने या हाथी या गाय द्वारा पौधों को रौंदने के बारे में क्या?
हम रेखा कहाँ खींचें? क्या मनुष्य का स्वार्थ और इच्छाएं चीजों को अप्राकृतिक बनाती हैं?
अप्राकृतिक क्या है और प्राकृतिक क्या है?
इन सवालों पर कुछ विचार करने की आवश्यकता है….
